SITraN is a unique research facility, purpose-built and dedicated to research into motor neuron disease (MND/ALS) and related diseases such as spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), Parkinson's, Alzheimer's disease and stroke. The institute was opened in 2010 by HM The Queen and hosts a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and scientists working together under one roof to translate research discoveries from the laboratory to the clinic in order to benefit patients and their families worldwide.
What better way to start than with an introduction to SITraN by our Director Professor Dame Pam Shaw who thanks to many generous supporters could turn her vision into reality, creating a place where people from all relevant disciplines are working together to find solutions to these devastating diseases.
